As well as performing the basic function of protecting a Predator's head, the mask also grants the wearer access to multiple vision modes including zoom capabilities, facilitates vocal duplication, and includes breathing apparatus, diagnostics, and visual and audio recording systems. The mask often also incorporates a red targeting laser used in conjunction with a plasma cannon.
Here's a great tutorial by my friends at the Stan Winston School on applying battle damage on a Pred Helmet:
This work of art is BEAUTIFUL!! It's cast in a high impact fiberglass/urethane matrix backed with chopped fiber. It is wearable if you adapt it with magnets/straps. The vision through the genuine metal visor is really crisp.
Great painting techniques courtesy of the Stan Winson School!!
