DOZENS of sweat-filled hours of hardcore labor and many many hundreds of dollars later, we have a lightweight casting ready for trimming and paiting!!
The space jockey helmet weighs about 9 pounds of a fiberglass/resin matrix, and measures 22" long, 15" tall.
THERE ARE TWO SPACE JOCKEY VERSIONS. The first is unweathered and newish looking. The other version is old, decayed, battered. Here's the first buildup of the DECAYED & un-decayed version:

This sculpture and build-up is absolutely ASTONISHING!!
Some have commented this was sculpted too large, some say too small. We scaled this to match the PROMETHEUS version. The SJ seen in ALIEN is probably three times this size so we went with the medical lab sequence scale. It's actually not too large to make wearable for someone (seven feet tall and BIG) ambitious enough to make an engineer suit. Here's some evidence:
