OBLIVION DRONE MODEL KIT
Welcome to the OBLIVION DRONE MODEL page!! This was a tremendous film with incredible designs. I decided to produce a replica of the DRONE DEFENDER. The model measures 11" long and was sculpted as a 3D mesh, then 3D printed with several scratch made pieces. It's a wonderful blend of old school and new school modeling tech.
LIGHTING KIT is now available for this kit. Look at this wonderful buildup by Randy Neubert at VOODFX.COM. He went above and beyond and even has lighting FX on the base!
**free of charge you can ask for clear cast engine nozzles and engine bell if you are planning on adding lighting FX features. Light kit is available at VOODOOFX.COM

THE VOODFX BUILDUP BY RANDY NEUBERT:
HOW IT WAS MADE:
The Drone print has finally returned from the printers! It is so amazing!
When someone thinks of 3D-PRINTED. They believe that the project is finished (besides painting) once it comes off the printer. Not true. Especially in the case of this project. The 3D print was only the start. In order to produce fresh castings the model needed to be cleaned and segmented. Instead of a one-piece model, I decided to chop the model up into over a dozen parts. The more parts, the better the detail! Each piece needed to be harvested using traditional molding techniques. Then each piece needed to be adapted for traditional molding technology (using clays, rubber, fiberglass, etc..). This was a ton of work! 2 years worth.
Modeling for the interior fo the gunpods (SUPER DELUXE version)

Here's something interesting!! In my research I found a deleted scene showing what appears to be a headless Tom Cruise holding his gun roughly painted on drone 166. I always thought those markings were dirt smudges but it turns out it's actually menacing graffiti!
The waterslide decal set includes this small detail.
