ABC WARRIOR BUST TUTORIAL |
Once all your parts are trimmed and cleaned, Start prepping the eye sockets by dremeling a groove for the eyes to seat-in. |
Drill holes into the eye sockets. You will need this access to instal the wiring. |
Drill two more holes on the underside of the skull. Again, this is access you need to install the electronics. |
Screw the jaw bar into place |
Screw the jaw assembly onto the skull with 2-3" screws. Superglue the temple insets into place and add in the resin detail pieces as shown on the finished prop. |
Trim and paint the piston and neck assembly chrome . Basecoat the entire skull EQUIPMENT YELLOW (krylon brand) |
Painting step 2: The head is neve r one solid-color. It is a MOTTLING of various rust, yellow, and tan colors. Mix and apply these loosely using thinned-down acrylic. |
After the first layer is dry, you'll want to go back over the entire thing again with a dry-brush mottling technique. This time, focus on DARK highlights. Achieve this by mixing a little black with the rust colors. |
Finally, go through the surfaces and LIGHT highlight. The final step is applying silver and black weathering/ battledamage. |
Drill appropriate-sized holes to insert your neck supports (do the same for the jaw pistons) |
Proper hole alignment for the neck support is shown here. |
Hotglue the LEDs into the transluscent eyes and paint them a dark brown (almost black). Then paint the eyesockets the same dark color. HOTGLUE the eyes into the sockets. The battery pack and on/off switch are placed as shown here. |
